Tropicals in Kitchener

What are tropicals?

Tropicals are unique plants native to tropical countries and will not withstand cold night temperatures (below 10 C). Tropicals can be houseplants through the winter. Tropicals love hot sunny locations and flower often with very intense colours.

Enjoy an inexpensive holiday in your own garden!
Some examples of tropicals are dipladenia, mandevilla, bougainvillea, hibiscus, agapanthus, brugmansia, oleander, palms.

Patio and Tropical Plants

Enjoy an afternoon on your deck in the warm summer sun and observing the incredible speed and preciousness of a hummingbird drinking nectar from a Bougainvillea. These are rich and incredible moments!

Brugmansia (Angel Trumpet) is another of our stunning tropical plants. The enormous growing power is second to none. In the late afternoon, the 20-30cm long, trumpet shaped flowers start to fill the air with their amazing, distinct scent. The more the evening progresses the stronger it becomes. Enjoy it, soak it up–these summer evenings are treasures in life!

All tropical plants require at least half or a full day of sunshine. Mandevilles, the most beautiful flowering tropical vine, Oleander, Hibiscus, Bougainvillea, and many others are summer treasures. They change our surroundings into tropical magic.
